Women In Decision Making Roles Across Australia's Business World

I was recently featured in Global Woman Leader magazine as one of the Top 10 Women Life Coaches from Australia 2025. The editor's note was quite insightful, focusing on women in decision making roles in business. Read the full editorial here.

Women in Australia are steadily increasing their representation in leadership and decision-making roles, yet progress remains uneven. While women now hold about one-third of board seats and senior management roles, Australia has not yet broken into the top six countries for female entrepreneurs, and pay parity remains decades away.

Research shows that gender-diverse teams perform better: a 10% increase in female senior managers can boost market value by over 6%, and teams with women leaders consistently make more inclusive, innovative, and effective decisions.

Public sector progress is notable, with women increasingly represented in government leadership and boards, yet structural support is essential to prevent regression.

Sustained commitment, transparent pay practices, and deliberate leadership development are key. Gender is only one dimension of diversity, but it matters- for business, government, society, and future generations. Supporting women in decision-making is not just fair; it is strategically essential for a stronger, more equitable Australia.
